Library Foundation Supports Roselle Public Library Roof Repairs

This winter season everyone at the Roselle Public Library District can breathe easier knowing our roof system is in finer shape than it was just half a year ago, thanks to a generous donation by the Roselle Public Library Foundation, which enabled the Library to complete a repair project covering the roofing systems on both floors of the building, as well as sections of exterior masonry. For years the Library has dealt with leaks scattered throughout the first and second floors, as well as the resulting expenses required to find and patch those troublesome areas.

To cover all of the roof repair portion of the project, the Foundation gifted $33,853 in October. In recent years the Foundation has also donated funds for furniture upgrades on the first floor, as well as the Youth Services Department renovation project that took place in the spring of 2016.

The project's expenses totaled $58,476 and the remainder of the costs were spent out of the Library's Special Reserve Fund, which exists solely for building projects such as this.

The Library Board and Staff extend their gratitude and appreciation to the Library Foundation for believing in the importance of this roof repair project and for its continued support year after year.
