Reading for the "print impaired"

The Center's collection contains over 130,000 items including Talking Books, Braille books, magazines, foreign language material, descriptive videos, old time radio shows, and more. Patrons receive a free digital talking book player compatible with book cartridges and downloaded digital audio and braille materials from the online Braille and Audio Reading Download (BARD) catalog.
Users can download the BARD mobile app to Android devices, including 2nd generation Kindle Fire devices, or Apple devices to create a personal, portable library on their smartphones or tablets. Patrons may also download books to a flash drive for use with the digital talking book machine.
Give the gift of reading to yourself or someone you know. For information about talking books, contact info@illinoistalkingbooks.org, call 1.800.426.0709, or check out their website today.
