Read eBooks in Your Browser

Roselle Library has two services for downloading eBooks and eAudio: eMediaLibrary and eRead Illinois. Users have been able to read eBooks from eMediaLibrary in their browser for a while, but starting today eRead Illinois also offers browser-based reading!

What's so special about browser-based reading? No special devices, no apps to download (or figure out) and instant access to the eBooks you check out. After you check out an eBook, simply select "Read Now" in the My Stuff window on eRead Illinois and your book opens in your browser, ready for you to read.

All of the options available in the app (re-sizing the font, changing the background, looking up words, etc.) are available in the browser-based reader plus you can make notes that are saved to the "cloud." After you open the book, you can also opt to read offline so you don't have to be connected to the Internet.

Watch this video to learn more about eRead Illinois' new browser-based reader. Then give it a try!
