Roselle History Museum's annual Historical Night

The Roselle History Museum invites you to its annual Historical Night on April 2, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Family Life Center, 405 S. Rush St., Roselle, to hear Terry Lynch present his program, Mudslinging, Muckraking, and Apple Pie: Presidential Campaigns, the Great American Pastime. It seems that now more than ever, political campaigns have gotten more down and dirty. How did this campaign craziness get started? Believe it or not, it actually has gotten more civil over the years!

The evening will begin with a wine and cheese reception at 7:30 p.m. with the program at 8:00 p.m. In this program you will hear the stories of the mudslinging and muckraking of the Jefferson vs. Adams campaign of 1800, the Jackson vs. Adams of 1824 and 1828, the Lincoln vs. Douglas of 1860, and Grant vs. ANYONE! Also covered will be the 1912 campaign when Teddy Roosevelt decided to start his OWN political party. Following the program, guests will be invited to enjoy homemade cookies along with their choice of coffee or lemonade.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Roselle History Museum Office, the Roselle Village Hall, or from museum members at $15 for adults; students age 6-12 will be admitted free. Tickets purchased the night of the performance will be $18 for adults.
