Illinois Talking Book Outreach Center

Do you know someone who is unable to read due to visual or physical limitations? The Illinois Talking Book Outreach Center can help!

In addition to book cartridges used with the talking book machine, digital audio and braille materials are available for download from the online Braille and Audio Reading Download (BARD) catalog.

The much anticipated BARD Mobile app for Android was released in June. BARD books can also be downloaded to iOS (iPhone Operating System) devices. These free apps allow patrons to create a personal, portable library on their smartphones or tablets. Patrons may also download books to a flash drive for use with the digital talking book machine.

If you or someone you know would like information on talking books, contact, call 1.800.426.0709, or check out their website.
