On the Same Page - October 7-13, 2012

On the Same Page, our community read featuring Homer Hickam's Rocket Boys, continues this week with programming at Roselle and our partner libraries.

For adults and families:
- Monday, Oct. 8, 6:30-8:00 p.m. - Bloomingdale Public Library, Before Apollo: Mercury, Gemini and the First Steps into Space. A live presentation for adults about manned space flight.
- Tuesday, Oct. 9, 7:00 p.m. - Roselle Public Library, Nifty Fifties Food. Recipes and samples of food from the 1950s for adults.
- Wednesday, Oct. 10, 7:00 p.m. - Itasca Public Library, Out of this World Desserts. Moon Pies, Whoopie Pies, Moon Walk Candy and more for adults.
- Thursday, Oct. 11, 6:30 p.m. - Roselle Public Library, Family Movie Night: "Coal Miner's Daughter," the story of country singer Loretta Lynn.

For kids:
Kids programming features the book Zathura by Chris Van Allsburg:
- Monday, Oct. 8, 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. - Bloomingdale Public Library, Zathura Craft Day. Drop-In craft for all ages.
- Tuesday, Oct. 9, 4:00-4:45 p.m. - Itasca Public Library, Magic School Bus: Out of this World. Children in grades K-2 explore space with Ms. Frizzle with crafts, games and a video.
- Saturday, Oct. 13, 2:00 p.m. - Roselle Public Library, Family Movie Matinee: "Zathura" the film adaptation of the book.
