On the Same Page - October 14-20, 2012

On the Same Page, our community read featuring Homer Hickam's Rocket Boys, continues this week with programming at Roselle and our partner libraries.

For adults and families:
- Sunday, Oct. 14, 1:30-3:00 p.m. - Roselle Public Library, Family Musical Sunday. Carpetbaggers Local 606 perform bluegrass Appalachian music.
- Monday, Oct. 15, 7:00 p.m. - Itasca Public Library, Hiking the Appalachian Trail, a presentation for adults.
- Monday, Oct. 15, 7:00 p.m. - Roselle Public Library, Men's Book Discussion. Homer Hickam's Rocket Boys.
- Monday, Oct. 15, 7:30 p.m. - Bloomingdale Public Library, Adult Book Discussion. Homer Hickam's Rocket Boys.
- Tuesday, Oct. 16, 7:00 p.m. - Roselle Public Library, Adult Book Discussion. Homer Hickam's Rocket Boys.
- Wednesday, Oct. 17, 6:30-7:30 p.m. - Bloomingdale Public Library, Journal Writing with a Twist. Adults, learn how to tell your story through journaling.
- Saturday, Oct. 20, 7:00-8:00 p.m. - Roselle Public Library, Through the Eyes of Hubble. Images from the Hubble Telescope. For families.
- Saturday, Oct. 20, 8:00-10:00 p.m. - Roselle Public Library, Family Star Party. Learn how to navigate and use telescopes.

For kids:
Kids programming features the book Zathura by Chris Van Allsburg:
- Monday, Oct. 15, 6:30 p.m. - Roselle Public Library, Books and Popcorn: Zathura. Book discussion for children in grades 3-5.
- Tuesday, Oct. 16, 4:15-5:00 p.m. - Bloomingdale Public Library, hands-On Science: Yes It IS Rocket Science. Children in grades 2-6 learn the basics of rocket science and make a rocket to take home.
- Wednesday, Oct. 17, 4:30-6:30 p.m. - Roselle Public Library, Wa*Ka*Doodle Wednesday: Space-a-licious! Children ages 5-11 make a wacky space craft to take home.
- Thursday, Oct. 18, 4:30 p.m. - Roselle Public Library, Kreative Kids. Children grades k-2 make a craft based on the theme "Galaxies Far, Far Away."

Thanks for leaving the schedule list. I always did enjoy my visits to the Roselle Public Library. You have so many diverse books and the atmosphere's really encouraging too.
