Girl Scout Silver Award Presentation

Cadet Girl Scout Zula Pendowski is partnering with Roselle Public Library District as she works toward her Girl Scout Silver Award. To earn the Silver Award, a girl must help her community in some way and Zula's project is focused on promoting reading for young people ages 11 through 16.

Zula has solicited gently used books and monetary donations for the Library. The monetary donations will be used to expand the Manga collection in the Young Adult area. Book donations will either be added to the collection or given to the Friends of the Library for their next book sale. Proceeds from the Friends' book sales also benefit the Library.

Zula explained her project and presented her donations to the Library at the regular Board of Trustees meeting, July 13. In addition to the money and books, Zula also presented several posters based on Manga characters to display in the Library.

Board president Elaine Pizzicaro accepted the donations on behalf of the Board and staff of the Library.

You go girl. Your art work is just gorgeous. I am proud to have been your library teacher!
