March Book Discussion Groups

The adult book discussion groups meet next week. Are you ready?

The Age of LincolnThe Men's Book Discussion Group meets on the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
On March 21, the group will discuss The Age of Lincoln by Orville Vernon Burton.
In a remarkable reappraisal of Lincoln, distinguished historian Burton shows how the Kentucky-born president's Southernness empowered him to conduct a civil war that redefined freedom as a personal right protected by the rule of law. (--Publisher)

The Adult Book Discussion Group meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.
On March 22, the group will discuss City of Refuge by Tom Piazza.
City of RefugeIn the heat of late summer, two New Orleans families--one black and one white--confront a storm that will change the course of their lives.

The (NEW!) Afternoon Book Discussion Group meets on the third Thursday of each month at 1:30 p.m.
At the discussion on March 24, the group will also be discussing Tom Piazza's City of Refuge.

The book discussion groups are held in Meeting Room A from September through November and January through May. New members, stop by the Adult Reference Desk to register. Book selections are available about a month prior to the discussion.
