February Book Discussions

Mark your calendar now for the February Adult book discussions:

Sarah's KeyThe Adult Book Discussion Group meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.
On February 15, the group will discuss Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay.
On the sixtieth anniversary of the 1942 roundup of Jews by the French police in the Vel d'Hiv section of Paris, American journalist Julia Jarmond is asked to write an article on this dark episode during World War II and embarks on investigation that leads her to long-hidden family secrets and to the ordeal of Sarah, a young girl
caught up in the raid. (--Novelist)

Red Badge of CourageThe Men's Book Discussion Group meets on the third Monday of each month.
On February 21, the group will discuss The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane.
Henry Fleming, a young Union soldier, struggles with his conflicting emotions about violence, death, and the nature of bravery in this ironic, skeptical account of the Civil War. (--NoveList)

The (NEW!) Afternoon Book Discussion Group meets on the third Thursday of each month.
At the discussion on February 24, the group will also be discussing Stephen Crane's The Red Badge of Courage.

The book discussion groups are held in Meeting Room A from September through November and January through May. New members may stop by the Adult Reference Desk to register. Book selections are available about a month prior to the discussion.
