Roselle Public Library Earns Earth Flag!

On Wednesday, January 12 at 7:00 p.m., Kay McKeen, Executive Director and founder of the environmental education organization SCARCE (School and Community Assistance for Recycling and Composting Education) located in DuPage County, will award an Earth Flag to Roselle Public Library District.

The Library’s “Green Team,” organized and motivated by Circulation Department Head Christy Snyders in September of 2009, led the way as Roselle Public Library staff successfully completed each environmentally friendly task on the path to earning the Earth Flag. The Green Team and staff continue to actively promote environmental education for the community by providing programming and informational displays, implementing positive environmental practices in the Library, and adding to the Library’s collections of materials on environmental issues.

The Earth Flag will be awarded to the Roselle Public Library District as part of the regular January meeting of the Roselle Public Library District Board of Trustees, Wednesday, January 12 at 7:00 p.m. The Roselle Public Library District is located at 40 S. Park Street, Roselle, IL. For more information please call the Library at (630) 529-1641 or check us out on-line at www.roselle.lib.il.us.
