Model Railroad Showcase this Weekdend!

Join us for an entire weekend of model railroading at the Library!
Roselle Public Library is hosting its annual Model Railroad Collectors Showcase on Saturday, November 6, from 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 7, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Come see running layouts, collections, and railroad memorabilia displayed by local model railroad enthusiasts.

The Showcase features an extensive running layout operated by the Midwest Division of Train Collectors Association, exhibits and collections from the Illinois Railway Museum, the Chicago & Northwestern Historical Society, and the Milwaukee Road Historical Association, as well as running layouts owned by several local hobbyists.

There is also be a special program for children.
Model railroader and collector Jim Kleinschmidt demonstrates the basics of setting up a simple layout. Children 9 to 17 yrs old will get hands-on experience in this class. Participants may get their hands dirty and are asked to wear play clothes.
The Model Railroad Showcase is open to all ages, but registration is required for the children's program.
For more information about both events, see the Library's online calendar of events.
