We Love a Parade!

Watch for the Library in the annual Rose Parade on Sunday, June 6. We'll be marching to promote "Scare up a Good Book!" Summer Reading Programs for all ages. Summer Reading begins Monday, June 7. The Rose Parade signifies the unofficial start of summer in Roselle and the offical start of Summer Reading at the Library.

It seems that we Rosellians have always loved a parade! As far back as 1892 we were marching to celebrate the events that were important to us. In 1892, the parade was held on Columbus day to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the discovery of America.

The Roselle Historical Foundation and your Library have digitized hundreds of photographs from Roselle's past and created a Digital Archive on the Library's website! Try it yourself...type the word "parade," or any word or name into the Keyword Search box on the database search page.
