Twilight Comic Contest!

Do you love the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer? Create a vampire- or werewolf-themed comic in honor of the Twilight series.

All styles (pencil drawing, ink, painting, digital) and skill levels are welcome. You can pick up comic templates at the Reference Desk, make your own, or create your comic using a site like Stripcreator, Toondoo, or Strip Generator. Your comic can have as many panels as you want, or just fill up a page with a single scene! It's entirely up to you, just be creative and have fun.

To have your comic entered into the contest, you must turn in a Permission to Publish form signed by your parent or guardian (if you are 17 and under) and signed by you. This allows the Library to post your comic on the web and in the Library so that other people can see it and vote for it. Permission to Publish forms are available at the Reference Desk at the Roselle Public Library.

Comics will be entered into one of three categories, which include, grades 6-8, grades 9-10, and grades 11-12. There will be three winners, one in each category.

Submit your entry to the Reference Desk between October 1-20. All entries will be given a number and displayed on the Library's Teen Scene web page and Teen Scene Page on Facebook.

All Roselle Library Cardholders are invited to vote between October 22 and October 28. Each Cardholder can vote for one comic in each of the three categories.

To vote, stop by the Reference Desk and fill out a form or email your name, library card number, and number of comic in each category that you are voting for to roselle.teen.scene@gmail.com.

The comic with the most votes in each category will receive a movie theatre gift certificate. Each gift certificate will be good for two tickets to see the Twilight movie when it is released in November (or any other movie) and some goodies from the concession stand.

The three winners will have their comics displayed in the teen area at the Library and on the Library's Teen Scene web page and Teen Scene Page on Facebook.
