Patriot Day Proclamation

On September 7, President Bush proclaimed Monday, September 11, 2006 as Patriot Day as established by Congress on December 18, 2001. The President "...call(s) upon the people of the United States to observe Patriot Day with appropriate ceremonies, activities, and remembrance services, to display the flag at half staff from their homes on that day, and to observe a moment of silence beginning at 8:46 a.m. eastern daylight time..." (7:46 a.m. central daylight time)

The President also proclaimed Friday, September 8 through Sunday, September 10, as National Days of Prayer and Remembrance to "...honor the heroism of the police officers, firefighters, rescue personnel, members of the military, and private citizens who responded selflessly in the face of terror."

You are invited to join us at Roselle Public Library on Sunday, September 10 and Monday, September 11, to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the September 11th tragedy and celebrate democracy, freedom and patriotism with a variety of activities for people of all ages.
Join us to remember the past, celebrate the present and look forward to peace in our future.
