We the People Civil War Program

Saturday, April 8 at 1:30 pm
The Roselle Public Library was recently awarded a We the People Bookshelf of Freedom grant of fifteen books, made possible through the American Library Association and the National Endowment for the Humanities. The library is sponsoring the second of two programs to promote these books, this one being on the American Civil War. Re-enactors will be dressed in the uniforms and civilian clothing used at that time, and will have a variety of implements and artifacts available for examination. This program will focus the history of the Civil War and its effects on the nation and the world. The presenters will discuss how ideas about economics, government, and the institution of slavery led to the inevitable conflict between the Northern and Southern states. Everyone is invited to attend this entertaining and educational program.
